The Opportunity:


As a Human Resources Business Partner reporting to the Manager, People Services, you will play a vital role in supporting our Hospital's Operational Leadership Team.

You will provide strategic HR guidance and support, ensuring the seamless integration of Human Resources programs and practices into your client team.

This role involves acting as a trusted advisor to leaders on talent and performance management, legislative compliance, job design, employee and labour relations, total rewards, engagement, and organizational change initiatives.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or, Bachelor's Degree with a Post-Graduate Human Resources Certificate.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional ("CHRP") designation required. Certified Human Resources Leader ("CHRL") designation would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of employment related legislation including, the Labour Relations Act, Pay Equity Act, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, Employment Standards Act, and Hospital Labour Disputes Arbitration Act.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize influence, sound judgement, critical thinking, negotiation, coaching, and effective verbal and written communication.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Models the Hospital's I CARE AT values in all interactions.
  • Fosters and maintains strong relationships with leaders, unions, and stakeholders.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to leaders providing advice and guidance on policy, procedure, collective agreements, and employment legislation.
  • Supports the implementation and success of programs and processes aligned with CGMH's strategic directions and people objectives.
  • Collaborates with Leaders and HR Associate partner on talent acquisition, workforce planning, and development.
  • Facilitates the grievance procedure for unionized units/departments within assigned portfolio.
  • Conducts routine workplace investigations and mediates complex employee relations issues.
  • Participates in local collective bargaining.
Completes data collection and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Researches and keeps abreast of best practices and legislative developments to support compliance and continuous improvement of people processes.

Please be reminded that as a Hospital, in order to provide the necessary patient care, our operations run 24/7.

Therefore, depending on the program for which you are applying, it may be an expectation that you are available to work weekdays and weekends, as well as all shifts - days, evenings, and nights.


Wage:
$ $56.81 per hour
