**The Cloud Assessments and Migrations team sits in the Intelligent Cloud Service Tower as a function of Cognizant's Microsoft Business Group. Our goal is to directly support our client's cloud journey through world-class cloud consulting and the use of powerful proprietary analysis tooling to help organizations make smarter cost decisions. Our Cloud Economist team provides ongoing Azure expertise and financial insight to optimize and govern our client's cloud estate.

What you will be doing:

The Cognizant Microsoft Business Group is seeking a Cloud Economist to consult our clients on their financial operations related to cloud financial controls, governance, and optimization.

Responsibilities:

Deploy customized PowerBI (Cognizant IP) to client's environment in order to capture aggregated cost information, share financial insights on clients' cloud estate, and enable datadriven financial optimization decisions.
Present formalized recommendations to a broad audience ranging from app/dev teams to corporate leaders.
Audit, recommend, and institute cloud governance models, including,
Tagging
IAM/RBAC
Cost monitoring & alerting
Project budgeting & reporting
Curate customized PowerBI reports & dashboards related to financial data models, including,
Cost estimations
Anomaly detection
Forecast modeling
Scenariobased modeling
Curate pre

- and post

- deployment financial models, including:

Modeling and presenting cost scenarios including SKU, region, replication, and reservation (1, 3, 5, year) selections.
Creating postmigration reporting & subscriptions for identified stakeholders by leveraging clientaligned reporting methodology.
Creating postmigration budgets & alerts for identified stakeholders by leveraging clientaligned reporting methodology.
Lead activities related to steering away from the introduction of unnecessary costs, including. ancillary costs.
Participate in the creation of cost guardrails, processes, and procedures that galvanize a culture of cost ownership.
Take part in "Cloud Center of Excellence" (CCoE) teams.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

3+ years of public cloud administration experience (preferably, Microsoft Azure).
Knowledge of common cloud administration toolsets, including,
Log Analytics
KQL language
PowerShell
Azure CLI
Azure API (Billing, usage, and resource usage)
3+ years of technical or business consultingrelated experience.
Proven understanding of cloud economic models, including,
Pricing meters
First and thirdparty "Cost Management" platforms
Cloud reservations
Enterprise Agreements
Azure Hybrid Licensing (AHUB)
Understanding of enterprise finance constructs, including,
Chargebacks
Cost Centers
Organizational structures (e.g. functional vs. unitbased, business units, profit centers)
3+ years of IT project management experience.
General understanding of work item management and backlog contribution with Azure DevOps and DevOps / Agile practices
Ability to effectively communicate, present to customers, and own/drive conversations and interactions.
Strong ability to create, draft, and maintain detailed technical documentation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word
Strong attention to detail
