PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical advice, support, troubleshooting and problem resolution/repair for specialized equipment and technologies used in research, teaching, and administrative offices for the Faculty of Science, primarily in the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department to ensure continued operations.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or 3-year college diploma as Electronics Technician.
•2-years work experience in a technology service field
•Troubleshooting skills in electrical, electronic, mechanical, instrumentation interfacing, and electronics driven systems.
•Ability to read technical schematics.
•Knowledge of computer hardware, software, security, data recovery, back-up procedures, networking issued, wireless networking issues.
•Detailed knowledge of Microsoft and Linux operating systems,
•Knowledge of script, compilation, and web scripting software (Drupal)
•Familiarity with computer-interfaced scientific instrumentation / analytical equipment
•Good multi-tasking and organizational skills with excellent problem-solving skills
•Excellent interpersonal skills
•Ability to work both as a team member, independently and prioritize work
•Knowledge of electrical safety
PREFERRED QUALIFIATIONS:
•Familiarity with ITS and its operations and procedures
