Construction Site Supervisor

As a Blue Star Projects Ltd Site Supervisor you will assist the Project Manager with the day-to-day management of construction related projects including site visits, supervision, productivity and quality control.

Projects must be completed on-time, on-budget and to established quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop a detailed materials list for assigned projects as per completed scope of work and approved budget
Coordinate all materials for delivery or pick up as required
Assist the Project Manager in developing Request for Proposals, selection of subcontractors, and completion of related documentation
Supervise and coordinate both production employees and subcontractors, and maintain organization and quality control on the job site
Supervise large loss job sites including all coordination of staff, subcontractors, engineers, inspectors, etc.
Assist with on site cleanup and debris removal as required
Update and maintain communications with the Project Manager
Assist in writing and reviewing scopes of work to ensure accuracy of work as well as labour and materials required for completing the job
Obtain necessary permits and meet with building inspectors as required
Provide Project Manager with detailed accounting services for billing process, including progress billings, open items, and necessary supplements
Obtain signed change orders for all work not on original estimate
Complete minor deficiencies to acceptable quality standards
Respond to emergency calls and followthrough to completion
Ensure all relevant safety standards are followed according to Blue Star Projects Ltd and WorkSafe BC requirements
Complete all necessary project documentation including work authorizations, stage approval signoffs, and completion certificates

Knowledge & Skills_

Knowledge of and ability to complete carpentry duties
Ability to use Xactimate; complete checklist, diagrams, and take photos for its use
Attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent interpersonal skills
Organizational and managerial skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize
Ability to work autonomously
1 year of handson experience in construction and carpentry is desirable
Experience working with a variety of structures (residential, commercial) required.
Experience working in the insurance restoration industry is considered beneficial.
Experience working with a variety of structures (residential, commercial, institutional)
Experience working in the insurance restoration industry is considered beneficial
Valid BC driver's license with a satisfactory driver abstract.
Previous project management experience is considered a desirable asset
