Project Overview:


Bechtel Infrastructure, along with key sub-vendors Bantrel and Comtech, has been appointed as the Delivery Partner (DP) within an Integrated Project Team (IPT) comprising the customer, Metrolinx, and its Technical Advisor (TA) for the Ontario Line Subway (OLS) Project.

The OLS Project scope includes the design build, operation, and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of new alignment, being delivered through major Public Private Partnership (P3) contracts and multiple Early and Advanced Works (EAW) contracts.

The OLS Project is planned to open for revenue service in 2031. The DP team forms a key part of the overall leadership of the OLS Project.


Position Summary:


  • The Don Yard is an existing maintenance and storage facility for "Go Transit" heavy commuter rolling stock. To facilitate the Ontario Line Subway, three early works Design-BidBuild packages are required to reconfigure the yard and to create the space necessary to construct the Ontario Line permanent works.
  • EW01: Track and signal modifications. Currently in construction, completion in July of 202
  • EW02: Site Compound, construction access road and utility diversions. construction completed in October of 202
  • EW03: OLS portal and cut and cover tunnel, support of excavation, utility diversion and construction of new iconic 120m span, tied network arch bridge spanning the Don River and Don Valley Parkway. Currently in construction, completion in September of 202
  • The Project Coordinator role for Don Yards will be responsible for a range of construction coordination activities including monitoring Contractor's performance, verifying installed quantities, and producing detailed shift reports as needed. The Project Coordinator will also be responsible for ensuring that the Contractor's submissions are reviewed by internal and external stakeholders within the allowable timeframes. The Project Coordinator takes direction from the appropriate Lead Field Specialist or Specialists.

Responsibilities:


  • Supports the Field Specialist team in monitoring the activities of contractors to ensure compliance with project technical requirements.
  • Liaison with the Site Field Specialist team to ensure the required information at the jobsite is present.
  • Expedites the review of contractor's documentation including risk assessments, method statements and inspection and testing plans ensuring that all stakeholders provide review comments within the allowed timeframes.
  • Verifies contractor's commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database programs as required.
  • Interpret design engineering drawings and specifications as needed.
  • Circulate and verify from a compliance perspective RFIs and work submittals such as shop drawings, work plans, safety plans, environmental plans, and others as needed.
  • Record meeting minutes and circulates them to involved parties.
  • Develop and maintain RFI and submittals logs.
  • Compile input from Field Specialists, and prepare, distribute, and log daily field reports.
  • Monitors the progress of projects and maintains phasing drawings.
  • Providing administrative support as needed.
  • Ensures that safety and creation as well as maintenance of a safe workplace and environment is the primary consideration and priority in the delivery of all work.

Qualifications & Skills

Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Construction Management, Civil or Mechanical engineering. Note, this is an entry level role.
