We are currently expanding our Model Plant team and are searching for an experienced
Planner.

Under the direction of the Manager, Model Plant and Test Engineering, you will work daily with technicians in the model plant to ensure that they have the knowledge, equipment, procedures, and materials required to manufacture and test high quality lithium-ion cells.

The role includes monitoring work requests, responding to reported issues, and assisting in developing new processes for continuous improvement. This position provides a variety of interesting work and has ample opportunity for learning and growth.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Planning and tracking of work requests:
  • Regularly collaborate with model plant teams, R&D, engineering, and maintenance teams to schedule and monitor status of work requests.
  • Follow up on work requests to ensure that all information and resources required to complete them are available and accurate.
  • Give regular updates on the status of work requests to the model plant manager and other internal customers including sharing of the immediate resource needs and other internal customers including sharing of the immediate resource needs and issues.
  • Take part in regular meetings, tracking actions and following up as needed.
  • Development and implementation of workflow procedures:
  • Collaborate with model plant and engineering to track work instruction documents that are out of date and require revision.
  • Assist in writing proposed revisions for model plant procedures and review them with all stakeholders to verify that they are complete and accurate.
  • Assist in testing new or updated worksheets/database tables/software required to implement procedure revisions before they are released to model plant users.
  • Ensure that procedure revisions are released to the appropriate staff, confirm understanding and that they are equipped with the tools/info needed to follow them.
  • Training and team development: Track individual training progress and review areas for additional or new training.
  • Safety: Run quarterly safety meeting. Keep track of safety concerns and risk assessments in the plant.
  • Inventory: Submit and track purchases. Assist in maintaining plant physical and database inventory.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experience working as planner and/or a process/project lead with similar responsibilities. Hands on experience in an R&D and/or manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Advanced user of MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.
  • Familiarity with systems like MS Planner, SAP and any resource planning software is an asset. Familiarity with data collection using database / excel tables is an asset.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience taking notes/meeting minutes. Competent in writing/revising technical documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Proven track record in working with others in different teams and seniorities to achieve shared goals. Able to work independently and proactively when provided with general goals from supervisor.
