You Will Use Your Expertise To:
- This position is responsible for overseeing the development of job plans and schedules for outages and turnarounds within NOVA Manufacturing East facilities and will function as a content expert accountable for planning and scheduling for such events.
The incumbent will:
- Demonstrate a willingness to initiate and lead processes in both individual and team environments.
- Provide senior level coordination for the planning and/or scheduling activities associated with ME Outages and Turnarounds
- Ensure TA standards, processes and procedures are followed to produce effective planning and scheduling strategies that align with ME business plans and priorities.
- Drive identification and execution of continuous improvement within the TA standards.
- Identify and act on opportunities for improvement of maintenance planning and scheduling processes
- Utilize and exploit SAP and Primavera software tools to enhance planning and scheduling efficiencies.
- Define and Lead staff to deliver efficient Planning and Scheduling. This could include both Internal NOVA as well as external Contract resources.
- Develop, review, and analyze TA Team KPIs and lead the development and implementation of corrective actions when performance targets are not met.
- Mentor Planners / Schedulers in the development of effective and efficient planned packages and schedule development
- Develop and lead constructability reviews with multidiscipline coordination
- Audit planning group work activities monitor safety performance and quality of work. Ensure that WCR and SAP data quality standards are followed. Initiate corrective actions and complete evaluations. This could include Contractor Evaluations as described in our Contractor Responsible Care Management Program
- Support the selection of prime mechanical contractors and provide a link between the Planning and Scheduling and Field Execution groups.

Technical Knowledge:
- A demonstrated commitment to Responsible Care combined with a strong understanding of NOVA Chemicals safety procedures and external regulations.
- Strong Planning and Scheduling skills.
- Strong Organizational and Leadership skills. Ability to delegate tasks, establish targets, review progress, confirm actions taken, and obtain feedback.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain focus
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, good written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to set and manage individual and team priorities.
- Technical training or background in Turnaround or Project Management
- Proficient knowledge of SAP, Primavera, and MS Office products is essential and Smart Plant Foundation (SPF) is an asset

Relocation will be considered for this position
Relocation will be considered to the nearest geographical NOVA Chemicals' location for this position
Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
This role requires up to 10% travel
