Your role as Cloud Operations Manager:

WorkJam is a rapidly scaling up SaaS product company looking to constantly improve toward best-in-class cloud infrastructure, methodology and processes.

As Cloud Operations Manager the primary focus will be on automating and tooling as well as overseeing our cloud services and infrastructure.

You will need to be a great leader to the team.

Reporting to the VP Product Quality & Reliability, this person will manage a dynamic team responsible for daily operations, ensuring cloud systems' performance, and implementing strategies for effective cloud service management.

A close relationship with security, IT and development teams will be essential.


What you'll be doing:


Leadership and Team Management:


  • Providing mobilizing leadership, engaging communication, technical expertise, alignment, and prioritization of work to team members across multiple regions (Canada, Europe, Australia)
  • Overseeing efficient resource allocation to several projects and initiatives based on skills, expertise.
  • Identifying and nurturing talent within the organization, providing mentorship and training to enhance skills and capabilities.
  • Setting clear objectives, managing performance a building an efficient team.
  • Ensuring timely and quality delivery of commitments/tasks/deliverables.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of industry trends and best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

Infrastructure and Operational Excellence:


  • Plan, drive and execute DevOps projects and migrations.
  • Create operational efficiencies by evaluating tools, creating automation and self serve capabilities.
  • Encorporate GenAI capabilities to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure a smooth intake of tickets and maintain the DevOps service catalogue.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to infrastructure uptime, deployment frequency, and incident response time within the context of the WorkJam SaaS platform for all environments.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and operational maintenance of the infrastructure on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Ensure reliability, scalability, and security of our infrastructure and respect of SLAs.
  • Oversee 24/7 operational support for cloud services and DEMO environments.
  • Monitor system performance and resource utilization, implementing optimizations and improvements as needed to support growth.
  • Handling infrastructure tickets within SLO & reducing the backlog over time through automation.
  • Contributing to cost management and optimisation of cloud resources.
  • Ensuring implantation and enforcement of cloud security measures and contributing to their improvement.
  • Continuously improving operational processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase cloud infrastructure quality.
  • Ensuring proper documentation is produced and shared to ensure maintainability of work quality over time.
  • Conducting system outage and system impact analysis, reporting and implementing corrections to prevent the reoccurrence of incidents.
  • Ensure disaster recovery management prevention.

Customer Satisfaction:


  • Cultivating a customer centric mentality and focus on customer satisfactions.

Third party relations

  • Vendor management and contract renewal handling.
  • Maintain a great working relationship with external vendors and cloud providers.

Collaboration:


  • Foster a collaboration culture with team members.
  • Collaborating with security, IT, product development, support and customer success and any other team that requires help.
  • Proactively include and reach out to international teams.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to understand infrastructure requirements and translate them into scalable solutions that meet the needs.

What we're looking for:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead a Cloud team a B2B SaaS context.
  • Handson experience with JIRA.
  • Extensive experience with Google
