Description
The Materials Planning Supervisor reports directly to the Materials Manager within the facility. The Materials Supervisor initiates purchases and/or production requisitions as needed. They are responsible for supplying the production lines with product as per the production schedule. Responsible for coordinating shipping and receiving of all product in and out of the facility.

Performance Expectations

  • Assists or provides training and development of all materials personnel
  • Reviews daily inventory activity to ensure targets are on track to be met
  • Accurate forecasting of monthly sales
  • Review capacity requirements and monitor planning to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Participate in APQP meetings to ensure Materials needs and customer supply chain requirements are completed on time
  • Manage, monitor and report Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for the materials department
  • Ensure warehouse layout supports FIFO and efficient material flow process
  • Review set up of Min/Max and safety stock levels to ensure monthly targets are met
  • Review weekly and long term production requirements for all lines through daily/weekly analysis of customer releases, report fluctuations and manage/ communicate changes to all departments
  • Assist in the development and roll out of Materials best practices
  • Responsible for ensuring month end tasks are completed on time
  • Completion of annual employee performance reviews

Credentials

  • Graduate of Supply Chain Management diploma or business degree equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a relative field, including supervision
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Proven leadership of a manufacturing team
  • Highvolume manufacturing or OEM experience preferred
