Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Material Coordinator located in Fort Saskatchewan (AB, CAN).


The Material Coordinator will act as a focal point for acquisition, scheduling and distribution of materials, supplies and service requisitions.

The Material Coordinator will act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.

Responsibilities - Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role:

  • Enters materials, tools, equipment requests via SAP and other Procurement Systems.
  • Communicates to the focal point with status updates on orders including any issues such as delayed delivery.
  • Communicates any potential changes in material specifications between supplier and requestor and initiates system updates, as appropriate.
  • Coordinates the disposition of all surplus material. Coordinates the repair and/or return of materials, tools and equipment obtained on a value added work order.
  • Monitors/tracks materials, tools and equipment orders upon receipt.
  • Prepares requisitions for offsite resources and for outside of maintenance, as needed.
  • Arranges materials, tools and equipment in a manner, that it can be identified and picked up according to job needs.
  • Gathers information and inputs into the appropriate maintenance measures/key performance indicators (KPI). Uses metrics to measure materials coordination tasks and develops action to improve the process.
  • Communicates vendor performance to procurement services.
  • Works closely with procurement, coding, planning, scheduling and work coordination to provide seamless execution of the Global Management Work Process (GMWP).
  • Willing and able to work overtime and weekends, as business needs require.
Qualifications - Required education, experience and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves)

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 or more years of industry experience.
  • A minimum requirement for this Canada based position is the ability to work legally in the Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.
