    About this role

    Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Sourcing Manager located in Fort Saskatchewan (AB, CAN).

    The Sourcing Manager creates value for Dow by defining sourcing opportunities, developing and aligning sourcing strategies, leveraging supplier relationships, analyzing market conditions, and negotiating with suppliers and internal partners to optimize sustained value for Dow. Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge of the discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. In this role, you will require in-depth conceptual and working knowledge of your discipline or functional area. You will need to understand your discipline's best practices and how they relate to others. You may need to lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements as well as serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues. You should also be able to explain difficult or sensitive information and work to build consensus with others. It is your responsibility to analyze and resolve complex problems, examine information from multiple sources, and use judgement to evaluate established and new solutions. Your performance impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your own team and other related teams and requires that you work within established guidelines and policies. Responsibilities:
    • Utilizes business acumen and leverages best practices to drive value from the market and influence stakeholders.
    • Responsible for the negotiation, execution and implementation of commercial agreements and related work processes in accordance with the strategies within the commercial area and/or geography.
    • Uses influential leadership to elevate the performance of the workgroup.
    • Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines.
    • Solves complex problems.
    • Works independently, receives minimal guidance.
    • May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives.
    • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

    Qualifications:

    • A minimum of a bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.
    • A minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
    • A minimum requirement for this Canada based position is the ability to work legally in Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.
