We are currently looking for a Civil Construction Supervisor in the Calgary area.


Summary


The Civil Construction Supervisor fosters an environment of construction execution excellence, as well as building a culture of providing solutions, not problems.

They are responsible for the organization of the day-to-day activities on the job site.

The Civil Construction Supervisor will ensure that activities are being completed safely and efficiently all while upholding a strong dedication to quality.

They will be proficient in all areas of Earthworks Construction.

The Civil Construction Supervisor works closely with the Construction, Project, and Fleet Managers to ensure that projects are profitable and delivered on time.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience as a Forman in Earthworks Construction
  • Formal Supervisor Training is considered an asset.
  • LSE
  • First Aid/CPR/AED

  • Confined Space

Skills

  • Proficient at Earthworks Construction execution and planning.
  • General knowledge OH&S code and regulations.
  • Ability to coach and mentor.
  • Comfortable with computer software such as Excel, Word, and Adobe.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and clients.

Duties

Leadership

  • Uphold core corporate values.
  • Provide positive examples of conduct, safety and mentoring to direct reports.

Operations

  • Hold daily tailboard and close meetings with direct reports.
  • Supply daily reports to clients, Iconic Construction & Project Managers.
  • Develop and supply a 3week forecast to clients, Iconic Construction & Project Managers.
  • Review project safety, security and environmental policies and procedures with direct reports.
  • Review and understand corporate policies/procedures.
  • Review and understand project schedule/milestones.
  • Participate in resource planning with Construction, Project & Fleet Managers.
  • Assist Construction Manager Earthworks & Distribution with the evaluation of direct reports.
  • Submit daily timesheets to Iconic office and help manage/minimize overtime.
  • Monitor discrepancies between bid and postaward work scope.
  • Coordinate day to day work scope with Foreman on large scale projects
  • Manage worked hours per estimated project proposal. Report deviations from estimated vs. worked hours to Project Manager.
  • Identify any field level scope changes to Project Manager and Construction Manager Earthworks & Distribution for pricing and client approval.
  • Work closely with the client representative to ensure all client requirements are met or exceeded.

Employment Pre-requisites and Requirements

  • D&A Testing and a background check is a mandatory requirement of this position.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers license.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
