  • Radio-Canada Toronto is looking for an Associate Producer to work on the radio morning show
- _Y'a pas deux matins pareils._

  • You will be assigned to gather and write program material for all our media platforms. You will participate in the production, direction and/or postproduction of the morning show and/or program segments.
  • Please note the regular work schedule of this permanent fulltime position is Sunday to Thursday.

Your key tasks:


  • Contribute ideas for program content; participate in the preparation of program objectives.
  • Organize the participation of interviewees, creative contributors and other participants, develop background, introduction and line of questioning, conduct or arrange for any necessary research and ensure the briefing of hosts. Maintain contact files.
  • Assist in developing program content, including writing, researching and/or editing. Prepare interview outlines; ensure adherence to the style and format of the program.
  • Draft and post online articles related to the show.
  • Promote program content on social media.
  • Participate in the evaluation of all aspects of the production.

As required, perform the following duties:

  • Music selection.-
  • Production of various components of the show.-
  • Sourcing studios, crews, lines, and other technical and production resources required by the program on behalf of all producers and freelancers.-
  • Assign, direct and coordinating the work of other personnel working on a project for which the Producer is responsible.-
  • Mixing and editing, or direct the editing and mixing, of audio and/or visual elements.
Logging programs and music in appropriate information systems. Assist in developing content for the morning show, including writing, preparing talkback plans, researching and/or editing. Provide technical support for our radio shows. Help with studio and remote tapings. Provide video and audio clips to support the digital offering. University degree in journalism or equivalent Two or more years' relevant experience during which you gained exposure to journalism, the media, computers, broadcast technologies and digital platforms. Experience in booking interview guests, developing lines of questioning, writing focused introductions and preparing and writing tape segments. Capable of original and creative thought in the production of news for radio, TV and digital platforms, with demonstrated writing skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; good team player. Comfortable with the demands and needs of television, radio and digital news production. Solid organizational skills; ability to handle a variety of functions quickly and efficiently. Ability to solve problems independently and in group discussions (openness to new ideas and approaches). Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as required. Strong knowledge/understanding of Toronto, southern Ontario and the province as well as of Canadian and international affairs. Superior French-language skills, spoken and written. Advanced knowledge of written and spoken English. Excellent writing skills. Proven research and/or journalism experience. Thorough knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada's Journalistic Standards and Practices.
