You are
A_n Employment Facilitator II, EmploymentWorks_. EmploymentWorks is an established pre-employment program to support and advance adults toward sustained employment.

EmploymentWorks offers training for neurodiverse adults (participants) who want to practice and develop the essential skills necessary to get and keep a job.

In collaboration with the EmploymentWorks Employment Development Specialist (EDS), the Employment Facilitator ll is responsible for providing support to neurodiverse participants in the EmploymentWorks program.

Responsibilities include providing participants with support both in the classroom and on a worksite, assisting with developing/updating course materials and doing labour market research.

The Employment Facilitator ll is also responsible for assisting with the administrative requirements of the program including collecting statistical data.


_ This is a 21-month term project with a possibility of being extended._

Your Role

  • Assist with preparing, planning, and implementing the EmploymentWorks program with the goal of supporting participants to enhance their employability skills and improve their labour market participation with the goal of gainful employment.
  • Provide support in the classroom to participants and assist with delivery of the course material.
  • Provide support on or off a worksite to participants and/or employers, for the purpose of ensuring a successful employment outcome.
  • Collect/track program data, generate reports and maintain detailed participant files/documents in collaboration with the EmploymentWorks Employment Development Specialist.
  • Complies with privacy and confidentiality as outlined in agency, provincial and federal policies and/or guidelines regarding storage of participant information.

  • Maintains detailed contact/progress notes outlining date of contact, onsite/classroom activity, and participant's progress.
  • Assists with the reviewing and updating of course materials.
  • Support interactions with employers or relevant staff to manage programs and build community capacity (e.g. employer workshops, specific resources etc.)
  • Attends and participates in Program meetings.
  • Participates in regular supervision/consultation with the Program Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned that fall within the scope of the position.

What You Know

  • Undergraduate degree in psychology, social sciences, or related discipline. A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, is required.
  • Experience working with neurodiverse adults (specifically ASD).
  • Experience providing support and/or training to adults with disabilities in a classroom and/or on a worksite.
  • Good understanding of the principles of adult learning.
  • Understanding and awareness of job accommodations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Proficient in MS Outlook and Word.
  • Experience working with virtual platforms (Teams/Zoom).
  • Knowledge of the current labour market trends.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, is required.
