    We are in search of a Communications Student to join our team in the Ottawa District under the Canadian Buildings Division for a term of 4 months starting from September 2024 to December 2024.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist with writing and editing a variety of communication materials; developing content for our intranet, PCL Connects, and external platforms; researching, conducting interviews, and crafting feature stories.
    • Ability to tailor writing style for different audiences, internal and external.
    • Collaborate with our communications specialist to drive community engagement initiatives and campaigns.
    • Support in-person events by assisting in set-up and tear-down activities.
    • Aid in creating branded internal communications materials following PCL's visual branding using design tools such as posters, brochures, and infographics.
    • Work closely with the communications specialist and events planner to produce videos on various topics.
    • Demonstrate attention to detail in article writing, including adherence to CP Style and writing standards.
    • Efficiently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, results-driven setting.

    Qualifications

    • Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in a communications-related field (communications, public relations, marketing, etc.).
    • Strong written communication and collaboration abilities.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
    • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
    • Familiarity with various social media platforms and the skill to customize content for each platform.
    • Experience in photography and photo editing is advantageous.
    • Experience in videography (scripting, storyboarding, filming, editing) and video editing tools like Premier Pro or Final Cut is a plus.
