CPC Pumps is looking for a talented professional to join our team to fill the role of
Health, Safety & Environmental Coordinator.


Purpose


The Health, Safety & Environmental Coordinator will support the Manager in all aspects of delivery of the Company's Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management Systems.

This will include, but not limited to, undertaking audits and inspections, developing operating procedures, preparing reports and statistics, delivering presentations as well as providing advice and guidance to employees while ensuring safe working procedures on company work sites, facilities, and regulatory compliance.

A critical aspect of the role is the investigation and reporting of incidents concisely to ensure accurate conclusions can be drawn by managers and others.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the manager in the preparation and implementation of ISO standards for certification
  • Ensures that the requirements of the company's Health, Safety, and Environment Policy and procedures are achieved in the areas that are under direct control, including risk assessment, facility risk rating, accident investigating etc.
  • Advise and assist site and officebased staff on all aspects of the Company's Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management Systems and procedures
  • Source, plan and deliver (Safety, Health & Environment) training to employees as required
  • Investigate and report on incidents, dangerous occurrences, ill health and near misses
  • Thoroughly investigates lost time accidents/incidents and health and safety related complaints
  • Generates H&S statistics and provides regular reports in a prescribed format, to the manager
  • Conduct audits and inspections to assure compliance to company and regulatory procedures
  • Prepares and maintains necessary regulatory documentation and reports
  • Maintains record of all safety and site information used to provide statistics, charts, reports etc.
  • Ensures management remains aware of any potential H&S related issues that may negatively impact the business
  • Address health and safety issues and concerns, liaise with various departments, and complete follow ups
  • Perform hazard and ergonomics assessments of workplace and provide feedback to the management team
  • Liaise with client and attend meetings as instructed by the manager
  • Contribute to and develop appropriate health, safety, and environmental initiatives as required

What we expect of you?

Qualification Requirements

  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
  • Ability to work independently
  • Report writing and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Experience of health and safety, environmental, energy and quality management systems.
  • Flexible, team player with ability to prioritize

Education and/or Experience

  • BA in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 34 years of experience in a Safety role with Industrial equipment manufacturing organization
  • Knowledge and/or experience with ISO quality management systems

Physical Demands

  • Comfortably able to perform repetitive motions using finger, wrist, and shoulders
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods of time during your work hours
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment where problems occur and workload is heavy

Work Environment

  • Work environment involves working in both the warehouse and office settings
  • Ability to work in a high noise area, work around moving conveyors, forklifts, machines, and equipment
  • Must wear personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and steel toed boots, while working in warehouse
  • Must be aware of and comply with all relevant safety policy and procedures

Flexible Language Requirement:

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Evening shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends
