Summary


T his position is responsible for the physical and administrative activities associated with the loading of parts, customer deliveries, collection of charges and the unloading of the parts for the dealership.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet s customers ensur ing optimum customer service.
  • Locat es needed auto parts from the warehouse/storage area.
  • Delivers and picks up parts at various locations.
  • Updates d rivers l og of all the visits, time and invoice numbers as required on the log. Ensures that the logs are turned in at the end of each day to the Parts Manager.
  • Packages and secures cargo for transport ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health & Safety related regulations.
  • Load s parts into the delivery vehicle and e nsur es parts are p ack ed properly and safely.
  • Maintai ns distribution and delivery logs and communicat es status of deliveries to the Parts Manager.
  • Prepar es or obtain s receipts for deliveries and pick u ps and turns in any monies at the end of the day (a daily log of expenses to be maintained).
  • Maintain s company vehicles in a safe, reliable condition, ensuring that all maintenance is performed at regular intervals.
  • Conducts regular vehicle i nspection of tire pressure, light gauges and fluid levels. Maintains cleanliness of vehicle by cleaning up any spilled liquids in the vehicle.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of and complies with company and departmental policies, procedures and standards.
  • Maintains customer and company confidence by keeping information confidential and secure.
  • Check s pulled part s for damages and conformity to work orders.
  • Ensu res that all pulled parts are labeled properly with pricing, specifications and batch number information.
  • Assists with restocking shelves, cleaning parts department, counting yearly inventory as requested.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with team members and management in a team environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in automotive field is an asset.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Shipper/Receiver or as a Parts Delivery Driver.
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License and a clean driver's abstract.
  • Ability to drive a manual transmission is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal & written English) and customer service skills.
  • Must take pride in the job as the appearance of the delivery vehicle reflects directly upon customer perception of the dealership.
  • Knowledge of safety hazards and precautions.
  • Detail oriented and excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Performs calculations and works with numbers to solve problems.
  • Ability to work cohesively with employees and managers as part of a team.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines.
  • Must be able to lift and carry products weighting up to a maximu m of 50lbs.
