Upcoming geospatial consulting opportunity, supporting large scale GIS program in Greater Toronto and surrounding area, beginning in June 2023

Purposed Working Relationship:

Short-term/ Long-term contract


We push the boundaries of geospatial technology. Leveraging geospatial information with existing data points allows data to be visually mapped to identify patterns and opportunities. Our scalable approach goes far beyond maps and dashboards. We develop geospatial tools that give organizations deeper process insights and tools to improve efficiency and increase cost savings.

We are looking for a

GIS Data Analyst responsible for updating spatial data layers, developing map products, updating metadata, preparing data for delivery, and providing training services.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Design and maintain spatial data layers, including data acquisition, processing, metadata management and quality control for delivery
  • Develop map products and data visualizations using ESRI products, and Microsoft Power Platform
  • Work closely with stakeholders to provide training services

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science or related field

Minimum of 2+ years of experience in GIS data analysis:


  • Proficiency in a range of GIS products, processes, and principles (e.g. Esri ArcGIS)
  • Understanding of data quality and metadata standards
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI
  • Experience with web mapping technologies (e.g. Leaflet, OpenLayers) is a plus
  • Knowledge with GIS database management systems (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle) is a plus
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. FME, Python, R) is a plus
  • Excellent data visualization skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
