Job Summary


Responsible to the Operations Manager to meet and exceed production schedules, meeting cost objectives and establishing and maintaining production and quality processes.

The Nursery Production Potting Manager keeps the Operations Manager informed of all quality, delivery, staff and training related matters.


The Nursery Production Potting Manager supports the Lead Hands as they meet their production targets and goals, while troubleshoots potting issues if they arise.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain safety of workers
  • Demonstrate Willowbrook Nurseries values
  • Lead FLOW initiatives. Focus on onepiece flow
  • Lead workplace organization e.g., 5S.
  • Meeting planting targets as described by the potting plan
  • Daytoday staffing, lending workers, realtime labour balancing in potting department
  • Coordinate with Home farm, plan the day/week receiving scheduling with Home Farm.
  • Responsible for upholding quality, and resolving quality issues
  • Responsible for implementing waste reduction initiatives, tracking and reporting improvements
  • Establish standard production targets
  • Collaborate with supervisors and workers to set optimal machine speeds via product family
  • Signoff on quantity and quality reports, ensure their accuracy
  • Responsible for maintenance of equipment, implementing daily/weekly checklists
  • Troubleshooting daytoday issues as they arise, support Supervisors and workers
  • Ensures that all health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Potting mix supplier coordination
  • Responsible for inventory
  • Implements open/close checklists

Position Requirements
Must be a team player with good communication skills

Spanish is an asset
