South Vancouver Neighbourhood House is seeking an energetic and experienced OSC Educator. The OSC
Educator will work collaboratively with our dynamic team to plan, evaluate, and implement a variety of
activities for school age children. Orientation and training will be provided.
Role and Responsibilities
- To be a part of a team that provides positive guidance and care for children ages 512 in a licensed after
- To assist with evaluating, planning, and implementing activities that are based on the children's needs and
- To follow through with SVNH policies and procedures and BC Childcare Licensing Regulations.
- To assist in setting up and cleaning up the program, preparing snacks, and in all out trips.
- Drive SVNH van/bus to pick up and drop off group.
Qualifications and Skills
- Passion in working with school age children.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with children in a licensed or recreation setting.
- 20 hours or Responsible Adult Training or equivalent as required by BC Childcare Licensing.
- Knowledge of the 2019 BC Early Learning Frameworks and inclusive practice.
- ECE and Special Needs ECE an asset.
- Class 4 driver's licence.
- Valid First Aid & Food Safe.
- Clear Criminal Record, immunization record and Dr's note upon hire required.
- Sound knowledge of BC Childcare Licensing Regulations and child development.
- Experience working with children with varying abilities in a diverse and inclusive setting.
- Able to work in a team setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Employment Terms
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 27.5hrs per week, 7:15 to 9:15am & 2:30 6:00pm. Additional hours on early
- Start Date: ASAP
- Salary: $21.10 per hour plus $4/hr ECE Wage Enhancement (if eligible)
- Benefits: Excellent benefit package, paid sick time, medical, extended health, dental, pension plan and
