Position Introduction:

Role Accountabilities:


  • Collaborate with the production & manufacturing team to identify and address polymerrelated issues, ensuring optimal production processes and product quality.
  • Report on the latest in polymer advancements, properties, and processing techniques to develop innovative solutions for product challenges.
  • Design and execute experiments to test and validate new polymer designs and product performance.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations for improvements and product enhancements.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of industry trends, advancements, and best practices in polymer science and technology.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the fabrication team on polymerrelated matters, including troubleshooting and problemsolving.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for polymer R&D processing and testing, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and retrieve information from hard drives and other storage devices to access historical project data and reference materials.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, including engineering, quality control, and supply chain, to ensure seamless integration of polymer research and development efforts into the overall manufacturing process.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, research findings, and project updates to internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • ISO 9001 standards are complied with, audit procedures and inspect products and keep Katch Kan current with ISO compliance.
  • ISO 14001 standards are complied with, and environmental issues are identified and addressed. I ensure compliance and control environmental impacts and aspects. Waste and scrap are recycled or reused when possible.

Education & Experience:


  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 35 years of experience in polymer research and development, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing highpressure projects and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in polymer product manufacturing and working with vendors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams and present technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Experience with managing multiple priorities and projects.
  • Familiar with ISO Quality Assurance Program.
  • Experience in reviewing and retrieving information from hard drives and other storage devices to access historical project data and reference materials.
