Adnan Joraid

I am a fourth-year computer science student at Sheridan College, pursuing a Honours Bachelor degree with a focus on mobile computing. I have over two years of experience in iOS development, but I am also familiar with other areas such as backend, cross-platform mobile development, and multiple languages such as Swift, Objective-C, Python, C, C++, C#, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

As a software engineer intern at FreshBooks, I optimized the execution time on large strings by approximately 98.44% and improved the memory usage by diagnosing 2+ memory leaks in the iOS application. I also eliminated over 8 redundant GET requests, resulting in a substantial reduction in API overhead and network latency. I also built internal tools for TD Bank and contributed to major features for their iOS banking application. 

I am passionate about solving interesting problems and collaborating with other engineers to innovate and deliver high-quality solutions. I am looking for full-time new grad opportunities starting from January 2024, where I can leverage my skills and learn new technologies.

As Bachelor of Computer Science student at Sheridan College, I've had the privilege of pursuing studies with a comprehensive curriculum encompassing computer science, software engineering, mobile development, and wireless networking. My academic journey has delved into fundamental areas like operating systems and computer architecture, as well as advanced topics such as artificial intelligence and theory of computation and most importantly, mobile computing.

One of the highlights of my education has been the hands-on experience in multiple programming languages, including C#, C++, Java, Swift, Python, JavaScript, and more, using cutting-edge industry frameworks and tools. My passion for iOS development, data structures and algorithms and backend development has been nurtured and honed through specialized courses.

Furthermore, I've been fortunate to engage in applied research at Sheridan's Centre for Mobile Innovation (CMI) during both academic semesters and co-op work terms.
