About Alana Peer:
My extensive background in HR & Total Rewards management coupled with my experience in various industries has given me a unique lens on the future of HR. This includes leveraging UX and Design Thinking approaches in delivering exceptional employee experiences within both program design and digital enablement. I am actively looking to relocate to the UK in 2025 and am interested in roles that provide Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship.
In my current role as HR Digital Experience Manager at Sun Life, I support the digital transformation of HR processes, enabling more efficient decision-making and improving the overall employee experience. My previous positions, such as Director of Compensation & Benefits at Infotech Research Group and Global Total Rewards Program Management at Hammond Power Solutions and Boat Rocker Media have honed by skills in compensation management, employee experience and HR strategy while leading strategic reward projects. Additionally, my teaching experience at the University of Guelph and Conestoga College has honed my ability to communicate complex concepts effectively, a crucial skill for leading cross-functional teams to deliver impactful changes in strategic HR projects. I have a proven track record in benefits design, compensation management, and HR analytics, which provides me with valuable insights into strategic HR planning and allows me me partner effectively across the broader HR community.
Experience
I have other 13 years of direct Human Resources experience, primarily in the Insurance, Financial Services and Post-Secondary Education fields. The past 5 years have been focused on Total Rewards, having held several senior roles with global oversight. I have also designed and taught multiple courses at the post-secondary level focusing on HR Management and Total Rewards. I currently manage the Job Architecture portfolio for HR digital transformation at Sun Life and sit on the Wilfrid Laurier University's Board of Governor's HR and Compensation committees.
