•Took participants’ blood pressure and interpreted blood pressure readings to raise awareness of heart disease and stroke

• Screened and registered eligible participants for the Activate program- an online platform that connects participants with a personal health coach, dietitian, YMCA membership, and incentives for healthy behaviors

Position Title: Volunteer Performer (Dancer)

Organization: Vogue Charity Fashion Show, Queen’s University

• Performed as a dancer in Queen’s Vogue Charity Fashion Show (VCFS). VCFS is dynamic collaborative arts show that includes dancers, fashion designers, photographers, videographers, graphic designers, make-up artists, painters, and technicians. All proceeds from VCFS 2016 ($37,000) were donated to the Happy Soul Project, a local Kingston initiative that is now reaching people worldwide

Extracurricular Activities

Position Title: Executive Member (Secretary) Academic year Organization: Canadian Association for Research in Regenerative Medicine at Queen’s University

• CARRM is a collection of not-for-profit university clubs whose objective is to advance the field of regenerative medicine. This is accomplished in two ways: by funding local research facilities and secondly, by spreading awareness for stem cell research and its therapeutic applications.

• As Secretary for this club, I was responsible for recruiting researchers to speak at our seminars and stimulating and maintaining relationships with scientists at the forefront of stem cell research. These experts would speak at our seminars about important developments in stem cell research. I recruited Dr. Sue Mueller of Ottawa Hospital and Inception Lifebank to present a seminar to the Queen’s community on umbilical cord blood for bone marrow transplantation. On another occasion I recruited Dr. Jeff Blackmer, Director of the office of ethics for the Canadian Medical Association. At our seminar he spoke to the Queen’s community about ethics in stem cell research.

• The Queen’s Pom team is a competitive dance team that performs and cheers at Queen’s Varsity sports games
