Alexandra Miroiu

I am a driven individual deeply passionate about psychology and dedicated to making a positive impact. I've immersed myself in diverse mental health domains, including researching the equality of access to psychological services within minority communities. My experience as an Assistant Psychologist and Brain Injury Support Worker has honed my skills in delivering assessments and therapeutic sessions, as well as supporting individuals through rehabilitation and emotional challenges. Through volunteer work, like mentoring debate and providing psychosocial support to children in oncology wards, I've cultivated an altruistic spirit. Proficient in research methodologies and tools like Python and SPSS, I'm ready to contribute effectively to any team or project.

In my work experience, I've had the privilege of holding diverse roles in psychology and healthcare. As an Assistant Psychologist at Building Blocks Therapy Centre, I facilitated assessments and provided educational therapy for clients with ASD. My time as an Honorary Assistant Psychologist at Central and North West London NHS Trust involved conducting service evaluations and clinical audits within the IAPT Service. Additionally, I served as a Brain Injury Support Worker at SweetTree Care Services, where I supported individuals through cognitive and physical rehabilitation, alongside behavioral management. These experiences have deepened my commitment to improving mental health services and supporting individuals facing various challenges.

During my time at University College London, I pursued an Masters in Psychology, graduating with a High Upper Second Class with Honours. My dissertation focused on investigating the equality of access and effectiveness of IAPT services within minority communities. Throughout my studies, I engaged with relevant modules such as Current Research in Dementia, Neuroscience of Mental Health, and Clinical Psychology. Additionally, participating in the Global Citizenship Programme broadened my perspective on real-world challenges. These educational experiences equipped me with a solid foundation in psychology and research methodologies, preparing me for my career in the field.
