October 2022  - May 2023 

• Lead a team of 5 specialists across 3 time zones support thousands of Shopify Partners with inquiries relating to Shopify’s Partner Program, development tools, and technical assistance with APIs
• Managed direct reports to ensure monthly KPIs and OKRs were met through 1:1 coaching, facilitating weekly team meetings, and designing quarterly homesites 
• Executed a humancentric approach to people management by developing unique coaching plans for each direct report according to each individual’s skill development opportunities and personal professional development goals
• Collaborated with senior leadership and fellow managers to produce monthly business reviews and align on the department’s 2023 mission and goals

Chair  | Asian Employee Resource Group, Shopify

October 2021 - May 2023

• Spearheaded the creation of the Asian ERG’s 2023 Roadmap to ensure both the goals of our ERG and of the Diversity & Belonging department were met
• Collaborated cross-functionally with Shopify’s 6 other ERGs, internal stakeholders and external partners to identify opportunities and events that align with the Asians ERG  mission of showcasing the diverse talent of Asian employees, Partners, and Shopify Merchants, celebrating the many cultures within Asia, and providing professional development opportunities 
• Designed and produced 6 digital events for Asian Heritage Month 2022, with upwards of 500 cumulative participants globally, and 2 for AHM 2023 
• Oversaw over 30 volunteers and 7 leaders across the globe who assisted with event production
• Managed annual budget and all financial operations including accounts payable and vendor management 
• Produced the communications and marketing strategy for all events, including overseeing design and implementation process and managing the communications team

Support Specialist, Partners | Shopify

• Used outstanding written and verbal communication skills in order to assist Partners with a variety of inquiries regarding Shopify’s products, APIs, and Partner Community resources, including latest platform updates
• Advocated for Partners to internal stakeholders by gathering feedback on their experience with the Partner Program and identifying ways we can constantly improve 
• Facilitated onboarding and training sessions for new and returning-to-work employees, from 1:1 sessions to classes of over 50 colleagues

Research Team Member | Pivot Canada

October 2020 - December 2020 

• Collaborated with research cohort to design a research project that appropriately and candidly reflected the lived experience of Canada’s youth during the COVID-19 pandemic 
• Produced a white paper on the effects of the pandemic on Canada’s youth artists by interviewing artists and researching governmental policies

• Produced and designed teaching materials for beginner to advanced English as a Second Language students, with a succinct focus on business English, oral presentation skills, and daily communication
• Delivered an all-inclusive learning experience by providing in-class instruction for groups, one-on-one tutoring, as well as telephone classes and virtual classes on Zoom and Teams
• Specifically designed learning materials based on individual student needs as per evaluations and intended learning outcomes set my PLE and the students’ respective employers 

ESL Language Monitor | Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe 

September 2018 - June 2019

• As the first language monitor at this Cegep from the Odyssey program, helped implement and design the program with participating English instructors 
• Facilitated English conversation classes that focused on listening comprehension, pronunciation, and essential conversation skills for the business, travel, and daily interactions 
• Continuously researched second language acquisition techniques and methods and adapted them for suitable use in a cegep classroom
• Coordinated with colleagues on developing curriculum material for future students and teachers

Communications Coordinator & Research Assistant | Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies, Simon Fraser University | September 2017 -  September 2018

• Spearheaded the design of print and electronic material including posters, ads, and event reminders with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop 
• Managed and created content for the Facebook and Twitter accounts on a weekly basis 
• Conducted research under the direction of the Centre’s director in regard to the Middle Eastern and Muslim diaspora in Vancouver the informed the production of new seminars, lectures, workshops, and events for members of both the academic community and public

Festival Assistant, Volunteer Coordinator | Vancouver Mural Festival 

Summer 2017 

• Implemented an official volunteer program for festival volunteers to help with mural painting and street festival logistics and activities; managed training and scheduling of over 100 volunteers 
• Worked closely with festival founders and executive directors to create community engagement plans to market festival leading up to opening night 
• Facilitated interactive arts pop-ups around the city
