I am writing to you as I am interested in the part time position as Nurse at the Campus Wellness Clinic at University of Waterloo.  I have been working as a staff nurse in the Paediatric/Maternal Child Program at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in Oakville since June 2011.  Prior to my employment at Oakville, I held a role of a Unit Clerk at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Toronto while completing my Nursing Degree. 

Working on the Maternal Child Unit has been extremely rewarding professionally as well as personally. Over the last 12 years, I gained experience caring for newborns and their parents on Postpartum/Antepartum unit as well as children under the age of 18 on the Paediatric Unit.  Working on the Paediatric Unit allows me to work with a spectrum of medical, surgical and mental health issues.  In addition, I have been cross trained to the Special Care Nursery where I was able to further my experience of newborn care of premature or otherwise compromised babies.  Furthermore, I have attended Charge Nurse Leadership Workshop and have been working as a Charge Nurse whenever the departmental needs require it.
