I am a motivated, driven and easy going individual from Scotland who is currently participating in the IEC working holiday programme and residing in Sun Peaks, BC. Throughout the ski season I have been bar tending and working as a hot tub technician for one of the resort rental companies. I have over 5 years experience working in bars, as well as in other varied industries that can be shown on my CV. All of these have helped to develop myself into a well rounded individual with great team working capabilities who is able to work under pressure for long lengths of time whilst being able to effectively make decisions and problem solve efficiently. 

Over the last five years I have gained bar and serving experience in a range of places. Initially I began in an Indian restaurant that included its own cocktail bar, which equipped me with cocktail making skills and customers service qualities. I then built on such qualities at a brewery owned bar, which allowed me to gain decent knowledge on a vast selection of diverse beers and alcohol brands. This job also equipped me with greater responsibility that allowed me to solely run a bar and floor area and be trusted to open and close the premises before and after shifts. Furthermore, I worked in a late night bar that required a constant fast paced food and drinks service and therefore equipped me with the skills and confidence to work under pressure effectively. A more recent establishment I worked at hosted a diverse selection of events such as weddings, concerts, conferences, talkshows and more, which required me to be adaptable to various work systems and environments. As a supervisor, I was in charge of ensuring the bar was efficiently run through managing stock and operations, assigning roles to fellow colleagues, and also serving guests. Therefore, collectively these experiences have enabled me to develop my interpersonal and communication skills, team working abilities, multi tasking skills and customer service qualities. 

I just recently graduated with a Master of Science degree in Acoustics and Music Technology at the University of Edinburgh. I also have a Bachelor of Science degree at Glasgow Caledonian University.
