ATHUL KUMAR

I am a Mechanical Engineer pursuing masters in Industrial Engineering at Concordia University and have an experience of working with CPO (Central Procurement Organization) as a GAT at BPCL ( Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.).

1. My job role included utilizing the SAP ( System Application and Products) Material Management 
module to perform different activities related to PR, PO, RFQ, e-tendering, inventory management, 
stock verification, vendor calls off, and other procurement-related works.

2. I have worked on the project of identifying the dimensional, mechanical, and material properties of 
every component (pipes, valves, seals, flange, blind, studs, flange, gaskets, etc.) present in 14 
different project locations acquired during different projects followed by segregating and coding it.
.The total valuation was done using SAP to find out the spending done on these items.
This greatly supported inventory management by reducing the expenditure on procurement and 
handling of excess stock. 

Previously I worked with Nayara Energy. I was given an opportunity to work on the project "New Coal Yard". 

My contribution includes and is not limited to:

• Installing fire water line on the entire project site as per the P&ID ( Piping and Instrumentation Diagram).

• Assisting the assembly of rotary equipment (motor, pulley, gearbox, coupling ) on-site by accommodating methods like induction heating, blue matching, and measuring instruments.

I have completed my bachelor's from V.V.P Engineering College, Rajkot.

During my engineering journey, I have completed industrial training at Jyoti CNC Automation Ltd. and Nayara Energy. In Nayara Energy I was training under RCM(Reliability Centered Maintenance). Besides the knowledge I gained, I was always excited to see how they form a team within no time during emergencies.

With an interest in designing, I have accomplished a 3-month course in NX designing software.

I spend most of the time in pencil shading and surfing animal documentaries at home.

As a team member of CPO department I was actively involved in the project of identifying and segregating different mechanical components and spare parts located at 14 different yards in the refinery according to their mechanical and material properties. 
Methods like PMI (Positive Material Identification) and measuring instruments are utilised for this purpose. 
Further this entire details are compared with SAP (System Application and Products) software to eliminate mistakes present in the system database.
