Belinda Hilal Celegen
Services provided: Business & Corporate Legal Consulting
About Belinda Hilal Celegen:
- Canadian Legal Education and Expertise: I have had the privilege of working at leading Canadian law firms such as Gowling WLG, as well as in the legal departments of prominent Canadian companies like Harrington International Corporation, and SSi Canada & SSi Fire. These experiences have provided me with in-depth knowledge of Canadian administrative law, administrative tribunals, UNDRIP, and Indigenous matters, as well as Commercial Law, M&A, and a thorough understanding of CBCA and ONCA.
- Hardworking and Multi-tasker: My dedication to my legal career is evident in my ability to juggle three different roles simultaneously. I have been working as a full-time Law & Regulation Specialist at SSi Canada, an M&A consultant for Harrington International Corp., and as a Justice and Accountability Team Director at Northern Justice Watch, all while preparing for the bar exam. Multitasking is a skill I have gained over the years, allowing me to manage a demanding workload effectively.
- Flexible and Committed: With a commitment to working 60-75 hours per week across my various roles while studying for the bar exam, I demonstrate flexibility and a strong commitment to achieving optimal results.
- Leadership Skills: I possess key leadership skills and ability to be both a team player and a leader. I have led my team as a J&A Director and understand the complexities associated with it, while also understanding the importance of being a team player at my job at SSi. Being on both the manager and managed side at the same time has provided me with a great opportunity to understand the complexities and possible resolutions associated with each role.
- International Legal Education and Expertise: My international legal education and expertise also set me apart, as I was a practicing lawyer in different jurisdictions. I gained insight into mergers and acquisitions when representing an angel investor and Netherland-based venture capital in their pre-seed, seed, and series A and B investments. I also incorporated my legal knowledge of international human rights law in my role at NJW, a Canadian-based not-for-profit organization providing legal and holistic approaches to the victims of crimes against humanity.
