- Digital Marketing Consultant for Awareness Strategies (2014-Present IT Consultant)
- Created an opportunity for people to become entrepreneurs, starting their own business. This included a business in a box with training, and Personal Development Online Training Products. The opportunity included digital marketing training to be able to find leads, a selection process to find the right customers, and make the sale in a no pressure process.
- Certified Digital Adoption Advisor through the Canadian Federal Government to be able to undertake producing a Digital Marketing and Operations Roadmap, meeting the Grant Requirements. This very in-depth plan defined what required changes were needed to move corporations from their current operations to meeting their 5-year plan. This involves changes to two major systems, Marketing systems to increase revenue and Operational systems to increase efficiency and capacity. With Marketing we recommended changes in web sites, search engine results, Google ads, social media, podcasts, lead generation, online sales, sales pipeline, CRM, customer journey, online courses, and customer communications. With Operational systems we reviewed integrating systems together providing one source for information providing an accurate clean information source. Specializing in the Technology Brad specified the systems, and tasks to be completed in the roadmap.
- Hippocrates Wellness – a $20 million yearly revenue resort and wellness company in Florida. Worked almost solely for them for 3 years. Started by creating a marketing list of potential interested clients from clients that had been customers or contacted Hippocrates. Started with the newsletter they had of 35k users, and found that it was actually only 22k as the rest had opted out. Ended up with a 150k list from different sources. Had to deal with Facebook and Google policy as Hippocrates promoted sprouts and healthy eating, being against the pharmaceutical business and could be quickly shut down. Did multiple webinars selling “Wait Loss Program”. Build many funnels for live and online events.

- IT Project Manager for Cenovus Energy (2011-2013, M&M Awareness Consulting Ltd.)
- This included multiple projects at one time, all providing IT infrastructure to Cenovus. Project work included upgrading the 2000 server VMWare environment, built a new datacenter, and database rationalization / upgrades.
- IT Project Manager on the Canadian Pacific Railway Strategic Outsourcing account (2005-2011, IBM)
- This included multiple projects at one time, all to do with providing IT infrastructure to CPR. Project work included undertaking assessment studies, defining the project costs, writing the Project documents including scope and schedule, infrastructure architecture, reporting on the project status, and closing the projects. Work included acting as an Infrastructure Architect for the Network Infrastructure.
- Projects included: Upgrade Storage Area Network and fiber environment to new equipment serving 600 servers, build a second DMZ for internet access to provide geographical redundancy for CPR’s 10,000 users and web services, connect many different wide area connections to CPR for field office, partners and customers, install Intel computers using blade technology and VMware, install Unix servers, upgraded and installed many infrastructure software applications for corporate backups, scheduling monitoring, and security.

- Worked as a Project Manager specializing in IT infrastructure projects. Helped businesses design and implement their IT infrastructure, including WAN, LAN, servers, operating systems, Citrix, server consolidations, SANs, network management, security, and other aspects of IT.
- Other major projects included migrating 4000 users and 23 domains into one Active Directory for Suncor Energy; redesigning and implementing the entire Canadian network for Halliburton Canada to increase bandwidth for a decreased price. (Better, Faster, Cheaper); and installing new File, Exchange, and SQL servers for Altagas along with Active Directory and Windows XP (and Office XP) to all the desktops.
- Technical Service Manager(1999-2001 Futurelink Corp.)
- Managed the AS/400, UNIX, Networking, Security, and Database teams for this IT consulting company. This included presales support, design, system configurations, and management of the technical people.
- Company liaison with vender partners IBM, Microsoft, Novell, Citrix, Oracle, Hewlett Packard, Cisco, Compaq, and others.
- ASP Data Center Manager(1998-1999; Futurelink Corp.)
- Designed and built the first ASP data center. This was based using Microsoft’s Terminal server and Citrix, sized for 4200 users. As the Data Center Manager also acted as the Project Manager to define the requirements, create a solution, and build the data center.
- Created and managed the ASP help desk.
- Helped define the policies and procedures for operating the data center, including participating in an internal security audit that defined the policies and procedures used in the data center to ensure the protection of the customer’s data.
- Defined the data communications internally within the data center, private external connections to the data center, and the Internet access.
- Implemented a new telephone system, and modem pool.
- IT Manager / Computers Consultant(1994-1998; Sysgold Ltd.)
- Worked as the lead on the team of IT consultants that was outsourced as the IT department.
- Project included LAN infrastructure, WAN infrastructure, document image management system, Internet and firewall installation, and various software installations. The environment included NT 4 servers, Windows, Ethernet, Token Ring, OS/2, Oracle, UNIX, Novell, and many others.
- Consulting/Service Manager(1988-1994; MAA Micro Computers Specialists Ltd.)
- Employed as Manager of both the consulting practice (computer consulting and programming) and the service departments (building and servicing PC computers) for of this independent micro computer company. Duties included all aspects of micro computers, from defining system requirements, custom programming, hardware service, sales, and system support.
- Contracted to the Gulf Canada TAD (Trade Acquisitions and Divestments) group to take information from all the departmental silos and compile/relate all the data to determine which properties Gulf would like to keep and expand ownership, and which to sell. This started as a large spread sheet that become a database and finally installed a Novell Network.
- Computer Programmer(1986-1988; MAA Micro Computers Specialists Ltd.)
- Consulted to the governments of Alberta, and Canada, to define the computer hardware, operating system, development system, and actual program specifications for the Municipal Police system in Alberta.
- Designed, implemented, and maintained changes to a mathematical simulation model, of a pneumatic pipeline system.
- Designed and implemented a software program that was used by the Foothills Hospital to bill the Alberta Heath Care System for services performed by the Doctors.
- System specification, engineering input, and programming to provide input, storage, reporting, and plotting of information obtained through wireline pressure surveys, and sonic shot information.
- Engineer (1979-1986; Pembina Resources Ltd.)
- Initially hired to help implement a SCADA system for the crude oil pipeline system from the Drayton Valley area to Edmonton. Designed crude oil pumping stations, crude oil pipeline systems, natural gas pipeline systems, pipeline economics, cathodic protection, measurement systems, and leak detection systems.
- Worked in the research and development department using pneumatic capsule and slurry pipelines. Studied various transportation methods, including the pipeline operational issues, and the economics of installations.
- Worked with the construction department building oil and gas production facilities, pipelines, pumping stations, and various other projects.
- Worked for the oil and gas operations department evaluating oil and gas wells for possible work-overs to increase production. This included preparing proposals to acquire expenditure approvals, and actually performed the necessary perforations, zone fractures, equipment retrofit, and other oil and gas operations work.
