About Calvin Quan:

My name is Calvin Quan, I graduated from Vancouver Film School's Game Design course with honors. During my time at VFS I learned how to design game mechanics and systems and how to bring them to life through programming and art. 

I also worked as Development Support at EA for 3 years where I got to experience firsthand the development process of a mobile game and what it is like to work on a team of 50+ people.

Electronic Arts - Technical Development Support - 3 Years

  • Completed general QA tasks, such as bug regression, QA reviewed user stories, and entered bugs into JaaS/Jira.
  • Provided tasks and detailed instructions to our QA team members in Hyderabad, India.
  • Created scripts for automated smoke tests to reduce manual effort. 
  • Provided constructive feedback on the game to the dev team. 

Education

Graduated from Vancouver Film School's Game Design Course

  • Learned how to design and implement game systems.
  • Developed game projects in Unity with small teams of 4 - 6 people. 
  • Learned C# programming.
