• Worked with children with a wide age range from 4 - 13 years olds in leading summer day camp games to foster child-development and appreciation for an active lifestyle.
• Aided special activity instructors through rock climbing, swimming, basketball and visual arts camps with running their classes and assisting with drills and handling equipment.
• Used safety principles to ensure children recognize the rules of various facilities and how to prevent injuries and first-aid training to address and heal wounds that children suffered through high intensity games or through allergies or illnesses.
• Developed robust communication skills, eye contact, and confidence when addressing concerns children, parents or guardians may have.
• Developed collaboration, adaptability, reliability, communication and organization skills through daily meetings, making a weekly schedule of activities with other counselors, supervisors, activity instructors and other support staff at the YMCA over the course of 2 months.
