Restaurants / Food Service
About Courtney Pryce:
Hi there,
my name is Courtney and I am currently seeking work in Halifax. Although I am trained in pastry and mostly work in restaurants, I have a wide range of skills and have worked various jobs. Some examples would be bailing hay, building wooden structures, as well as taking care of livestock on a farm. I have shingled roofs, walked dogs, created custom cakes, and cleaned the OR after surgeries in a hospital. I am also familiar with POS from working at a market in London, Ontario.
I have many interests and love learning new skills. I love sports and the outdoors as well as animals and my two pets, one cat and one dog. I want to find a permanent position that I can settle into and start saving for a home. I am a fast learner and a big team player. With the skills I have so far and my eager attitude to learn, I believe I could be a great asset to your team.
Please consider me for your position and reach out with any questions you may have. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Courtney Pryce
Experience
I moved from Ontario to Halifax in 2018 and my first job was at LeBistro by Liz. I then applied to Julep Kitchen and Cocktails and moved over there where I was promoted to Pastry Chef. The owner then opened Hermitage and I was relocated there as Pastry Chef once it opened.
Before I moved to Halifax I worked in a pub style kitchen to polish my cooking skills as I knew I wanted to move. I had previously been working at the Peterborough Regional Hospital as a housekeeper. I was able to save a lot of money with that job which ultimately brought me out east.
After graduating from college I stayed in Charlottetown for a little while and worked under a chef at The Claddaugh House. I learned a lot from this job and felt very grateful for it. I then moved to London, Ontario for a while where I worked at a bakery called Petit Paris, they had another location in the market downtown where I was eventually moved to manage the space. After working in the industry for a while, that is when I decided to work at the hospital and save money.
Education
I attended high school in Cobourg, Ontario at St. Mary Secondary School which I graduated from in 2012. I then attended The Culinary Institute of Canada at Holland college where I studied Pastry Arts and graduated in 2014
