About Derrick Holmes:

I am a self taught software developer with experience in C#, HTML, and Python. I have completed the Harvard CS50 certificate and am comfortable writing maintainable, testable, and performant software. As a self taught software developer I am proactive and confident in my abilities to research and learn new languages, technologies, and tools.

I have a strong understanding of how a program is built end-to-end and knowledge on important programming and computer science concepts.

Additionally, in my business degree from George Brown I learned how to efficiently building a project scope and effectively initiate, manage, and implement a project. Through my five years experience in the culinary Industry I gained valuable experience in how to collaborate effectively with colleagues in high pressure environments.

Currently working on expanding my knowledge of C++, JavaScript, and Typescript.

I spent 5 years in the culinary industry as a chef and have made a switch to the tech sector as a freelance programmer.
