Flavia Venetucci Gouveia

I have over 18 years of experience in neuroscience and biomedical science, with a strong track record in clinical and preclinical research, scientific communication, and medical writing. My career spans academic roles, including my current position as a Research Fellow at The Hospital for Sick Children, and freelance work supporting AI training and content evaluation. I’ve authored over 55 peer-reviewed publications, contributed to successful grant applications exceeding CAD $7.5 million, and led scientific writing projects across various formats—from manuscripts and abstracts to regulatory and educational materials. I also hold editorial and peer-reviewer roles in leading scientific journals and contribute regularly to collaborative research initiatives.

I hold a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Sirio-Libanês Hospital in collaboration with McGill University, an M.Sc. in Neuroscience from the University of São Paulo, and a B.Sc. in Biomedicine. My academic background is complemented by the completion of the Essential Skills Certificate Program from the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA), which has further solidified my expertise in medical communication, scientific writing, and ethical standards in the field.
