Band 6 locum role split between a transitional neurological rehabilitation unit and a community rehabilitation post. Worked closely as part of an MDT to inform holistic clinical decision-making and therapeutic plan management for neurology patients. Worked with patients and families to develop functional goals and track outcomes. Trained and provided information for staff, patients, and families.

Mar. 2022 – Sept 2023  Croydon Hospital NHS  – Adult Acute & Community Speech Therapist

Initially a band 5 locum acute role, then transitioned to a substantive band 6 outpatient and community role. Worked as part of an MDT to gather information and deliver holistic therapy for care of elderly, neurology, stroke, oncology, respiratory, intensive care and emergency services. Managed therapy plans for patients with dysphagia, aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, voice difficulties and cognitive communication difficulties. Provided information and training for patients, families, ward staff, and new members of the SLT team. 

Sept. 2021 – Mar. 2022 Octavia House Schools – Paediatric Speech & Language Therapist

Developed, executed and managed assessment and intervention plans for a large, complex, multicultural 11-16 year old caseload within an SEMH school setting. Formed strong relationships with students suffering from adverse childhood experiences. Led staff training to raise awareness of communication difficulties, and inform on management strategies. 

May. 2015 – Sept. 2017 Familybox, China - ESL Teacher/Academic Coordinator

Led a team to create and imlement inductive project-based curricula for young learners, accounting for diverse learning styles and backgrounds. Set appropriate curricula standards and goals, and analysed, prepared and presented data to demonstrate achievements.

Feb. 2014 – Feb. 2015 Wallstreet English, Thailand - ESL Teacher

Created lesson plans and innovative methods of language elicitation, teaching business and general English to adult students of all levels in groups. Provided targeted feedback to improve performance in 1-on-1 post-sessions. Designed and led large social groups based on student interests.

Feb. 2013 – Feb. 2014 English First, Indonesia - ESL Teacher

Taught adults and children language lessons from elementary to advanced. Classes specialized in conversation, business, academics and exam preparation. Regularly placement tested students, liaising with parents and school admin to account for needs and improve performance.
