Tax Return Preparation:
• Calculated accounting income tax provisions for current/deferred taxes in accordance with US GAAP
• Prepared journal entries to record income tax provisions and VAT adjustments in the General Ledger

• Reduced tax payments from 10M to 800k 
• Managed multiple govt audits with parallel deadlines 

Tax Consulting: 
• Under the direction of the Managing Director, supported and advised on tax implications for various business transactions 
• Identified the impact of tax changes to the business and including IT systems impacted by any changes to tax requirements
• Assisted in the design / auditing of queries (PeopleSoft) for corporate tax filings 
• Defined parameters, pulling queries GL, TB for tax calculations 
• Setup and maintained workflows (Alteryx) for various tax reporting deliverables 
• Assisted in the development of parameters for RPA (robotic process automation) initiatives to create efficiencies and cost savings
• Interpreted tax rules for FedEx business and conducted tax research on various issues. 
• Stayed up to date on current/pending tax legislation for all Canadian direct and indirect taxes
• Participated in tax planning with FedEx Services – International Tax 
• Administered SOX tax compliance for Canada and participated in-house tax recovery initiatives
