Pillitteri Estates Winery,  Niagara-on-the-Lake — Retail Associate

SUMMER JOB 2022

For the initial portion of summer 2022, I worked at Pillitteri Estates Winery as a retail associate. In occupying this role, I assisted customers -all being of demographics older than myself- in discovering wines that suited their respective palates and budgets. Additionally, I effectively processed purchases on a Point of Sales system, filed and sorted business paperwork responsibly, stocked the winery, and led a variety of wine tastings. Through these wine tastings, I successfully communicated my knowledge on a vast array of wines and the process behind creating each wine, all the while serving customers in a responsible, personable fashion. 

Ridley College Summer Programmes,   St. Catharines — Lead Counsellor for the Performing Arts

SUMMER JOB 2021 & 2022

In both summer 2021 and 2022, I worked for Ridley College as the lead counsellor for their performing arts programme. In this leadership role, I instructed children ages four to thirteen in acting and dancing while supporting their performing arts-related goals. At the end of each week, the children engaged in a recital in the school’s theatre. This recital consisted of a short play and a dance, both of which were directed and choreographed by myself, with assistance from my junior counsellor. 

Through this employment experience, I exhibited patience, dedication, and creativity as I worked to ensure each student enjoyed their camp experience, and that I was a supportive, helpful figure for both my students and coworkers. Additionally, I had the privilege of exploring how teachers, directors, and choreographers operate in a theatre-making setting.

SEPTEMBER 2021 (CURRENTLY ENROLLED)

The university I am currently attending is the University of Toronto. Within Victoria College, I am completing a double major in English and Theatre, with a minor in Creative Writing. Through the university’s selective Performance Drama course, I have been refining my acting, movement, and vocal performance skills within the past two years. I am eager to apply my knowledge on academic writing and speaking for audiences in a work setting.

SEPTEMBER 2019- MAY 2021 (GRADUATED)

I graduated high school from Ridley College. In my time attending Ridley, I achieved very well academically; holding a consistent academic average above 90%. A vast majority of the classes I took were from the International Baccalaureate/IB program.

As for my extra-curricular activities, I acted in Ridley’s Fall and Winter plays in 12th grade. Both of my performances received recognition in the school’s dramatic arts awards evening, and the Ridley College prize day ceremony. I also engaged in many school-related clubs and activities, such as writing articles for the school magazine TigerPostand their drama critiquing club The Cappies, where my article was selected for newspaper publication.
