Coastal GasLink Pipeline (TransCanada Pipelines) (Jun. 2013 – Feb. 2014)

• As part of the documentation team responsible for reviewing, editing, and assembling a 7200-page Environmental Application to the B.C. Environmental Assessment Office for construction of the Coastal GasLink natural gas pipeline:
  • Edited assigned sections of the Environmental Application.
  • Created, organized, and assembled pdfs of various sections of the Environmental Application.
• Because the proposed pipeline route crosses environmentally sensitive terrain, accuracy and clarity within the document were essential. The document was completed within an extremely compressed time frame.

Canrig Drilling Technology (Jun. 2011 – Jun. 2013)

• Contributed to the development of electrical and mechanical factory acceptance tests for the 4600-horsepower drawworks (used in offshore drilling) to ensure proper functioning of the drawworks’ many components prior to shipping.
• Developed commissioning documentation for land-based drilling rigs and other products’ mechanical and electrical systems.
• Created clear, easy-to-understand product assembly procedures for new personnel.
• Created and updated user guides for various products, ensuring accuracy and clarity of content.
• Organized and edited drafting standards documentation to ensure consistency of drawings within drafting department.

Imperial Oil (Jun. 2009 – Mar. 2011)

• Created and edited procedures to ensure safe operation and maintenance of conventional oil and gas field equipment and Cold Lake oil sands facilities. 
• Developed tools and competency assurance standards tests to ensure workers were qualified to perform specific tasks.
• Updated and edited a wide variety of documentation (e.g., Upstream Safety Management System, Surplus Property Management) to provide clarity and promote usability for the documents’ respective audiences.

Pason Systems (Dec. 2003 – Mar. 2009)

• Wrote documentation for a wide variety of audiences, including software and hardware user guides, release notes, safety updates, online help, troubleshooting, and SOPs, including dangerous field installs on drilling and service rigs.
• Transitioned paper-based installation procedures to accessible online training course format. Wrote and edited scripts to ensure brevity and completeness. 
• Was solely responsible for maintaining documentation for Safety department. Ensured quality safety review for all potentially dangerous field installs and improved safety notes by ensuring writers were involved.
• Maintained company style guide and Technical Communications department’s process guide.
• Managed relationship with external printing companies. Responsible for approving proofs and managing printing costs.

E-Tronics Battery Support Systems (Mar. – Jun. 2001)

• Created software and hardware user guide for Enterprise 3000 battery conditioning system.
• Managed user-testing group to ensure user guide accuracy. Testing revealed software issues.
