About Jeff Joyce:
I have just recently moved back to Fort Erie in May from Whitehorse Yukon. My advanced education at the college level begins in the military. My experience starts out with 9 years as a Marine Engineer in the Canadian Navy and 6 years in the Canadian Air Force as a Stationary Engineer. All my diverse education is enhanced by various technical training courses including a 15-month Engineering Technician Course where I learned proper use of hand and power tools, lathe, milling machine, cutting and bending presses, blueprint reading, mechanical drafting, instrumentation, welding, hoist & rigging, cement and aggregate. Other training includes trade level courses at the CAF School of Engineering in Chilliwack, BC and Halifax using the 4th, 3rd, and 2nd class material as the curriculum, organizing and personnel management, ordering of parts and material and budget planning. My Niagara Health System training includes CBRN Emergency Crisis, JH&S cert., Fall Arrest, and Asbestos Awareness. I also have a Building Operators' certificate from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. My 3rd Class Power Engineering also includes Wastewater training. Recent experience includes working with architects and contractors in the building of the Dawson City Community Hospital in 2013, change orders, change directives, signing contractor time sheets. I was responsible for signing for and receiving all the hospital equipment and supplies. My engineering training and experience keeps me involved in codes for building, plumbing, propane, refrigeration, oil burners, boilers and pressure vessels in the manufacturing, installation, operation, and maintenance fields. I also have training and experience in ordering, shipping, and receiving of equipment and products and training personnel in all areas.
