About Jennifer Villeneuve:
My name is Jennifer and I am a candidate for a Masters of Engineering Science in Biomedical Engineering (MESc) specializing in musculoskeletal biomechanics and medical imaging. I recently completed a dual degree in Mechatronic Systems and Biomedical Engineering at Western University. I maintained honour roll and have consistently been involved in my community through student council and various student leadership roles (Western Biomedical Engineering Club, Bone and Joint Institute Trainee Leadership Committee).
I have always wanted to pursue a career in the Biomedical field, to ultimately improve the quality of life of others through the innovation of medical devices. Overall, my career aspirations are to improve the quality of life of others, through my knowledge and expertise as an engineer.
In my spare time I enjoy working out, hiking, running, rock climbing, and scuba diving. Looking forward to connecting!
Experience
I have completed various summer research positions working with medical imaging (PEM, CT, 4DCT, Xray), implant testing in cadaveric specimens using robotic testing devices, 3D printing and device iteration, kinematic analysis (Matlab, Python), and real time marker imaging technology. Additionally, I have experience working with PCB design as well as Solidworks modelling and simulation.
Education
I have completed a dual degree in Mechatronic Systems and Biomedical Engineering at Western University. I graduated both degrees with honour roll, and received various academic and leadership scholarships throughout my studies. Currently I am pursuing a Masters degree in Biomedical engineering with a collaborative specialization in musculoskeletal health research. I received an Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS $15,000) during my final year of study. Additionally I had the opportunity to collaborate with various institutions such as Flinders University in Australia. Lastly I was able to attend Brown University in Rhode Island on exchange to collaborate with the Crisco Laboratory.
