Katie Baillie

Hello!

I am a Third-year student at the University of Saskatchewan completing my bachelor's degree in Sociology with a minor in Crime, Law, and Justice Studies. I am passionate about culture and making a difference in people's lives. Big or small, I live to make a change in individuals' lives and in turn for the betterment of society.

Although I have not started working in the field, I do have experience through my education at the University of Saskatchewan. During my education, I have been able to develop soft skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, time management, critical thinking, decision-making, and stress management. In addition, I have developed other skills related to my field of study such as understanding social dynamics, written and oral communication, and qualitative and quantitative data analysis. 

I have almost completed my Bachelor's in Sociology with 3 courses remaining. Currently, I am enrolled in two sociology classes which I think would be beneficial for future postings. One course is on Studies of Addictions, and the other is on Surveillance and Power in Society. I am completing these courses to finish my minor in Crime, Law, and Justice Studies. Additionally, I am striving to be accepted into a practicum program in 2024 to complete a certificate in Criminology and Addictions through the University of Saskatchewan.
