Services offered
I am a recognized visual artist in Canada, having secured magazine covers, events design, peer acclaim and prestigious residencies both nationally, and internationally. Work in my life is time spent project coordinating for the artist community outreach Print Shop in a Box, which shared printmaking skills and materials throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. In this Canada Council funded position, I curated the organization’s visual brand in coordination with gallery curator expectations, while interfacing with artists, connecting communities to resources, seeking funding, maintaining the website, and of course monitoring the budget.
In the duration of this contract, I also worked with The French Shore Historical Society of Newfoundland, to fabricate embroidery kits in the image of the Bayeux Tapestry of the Northern Peninsula. This project required creating imagery in the context of a historical cloth while navigating copyrights of other artists. To make the kits, I employed digital design, illustration, printmaking, and even textile skills- all while interfacing with the city of Conche to best represent their community.
In this time, I also began a bicycle cooperative in Corner Brook by securing funding sources, and interfacing with tourism NL to provide low-income (would be) cyclists of Newfoundland with the tools, parts, and knowledge needed to begin a life cycling through the beautiful landscape of the West coast of the island. As this was my project, I maintained all visual imagery of our online presence, visual branding, and events design. This activated my project management skills, while also requiring me to work through school provided business courses to learn how best to procure partners and allocate those resources.
These positions I accomplished aside the Master of Fine Arts degree, that I
recently completed in the brand-new program of Memorial University of Newfoundland. Through
my education I did self directed research, as well as paid positions working with artists and
teaching undergraduate courses. Among these projects I taught art history, assisted in grant
writing and program development and worked with galleries as a preparator - all skills requiring adept computer knowledge. My thesis project for this program was an infinitely clickable website that took readers through text, visual design, and digitally illustrated playing cards. All of this serving to hone my eye for composition and effective communication.
Moreover, in my life prior to graduate school I worked as an Assistant Artist for the Montreal company Candy Canvas. This position required collaborating with interior designers, keeping up on trends, working with a palette of the Pantone color of the year to create easily marketable high-quality works of art on a deadline with a quick turn around. In this experience I gained time management skills and working with others to achieve a vision outside my own while monitoring fashion through a tasteful visual eye.

As I’ve returned to my home of Montreal after a year of traveling and working as a free-lance artist, I bring to the table a creative problem- solving background of a tried-and-true artist.
