I am a reliable, dedicated and passionate human resources professional.  My career goals are to support people in achieving success in their personal and professional lives.

I have had the privilege to work in a variety of different cultures and environments where I have developed professional skills that have led me to success in my career. My staff, including union executives, have vocalized their thankfulness for my passion and my management style. I am responsible for very different personalities and have performance managed some employees from near-termination behaviors, into successful organizational leaders. In municipal government I have been responsible for making presentations and reports to council regarding recommendations for personnel, cultural and procedural implications. Outside of work I am a volunteer and spend my downtime helping others while bettering myself. My ideal environment is one where I can help others and make a difference.

I have over eleven years of experience in the human resources field in addition to my continuous education. I have developed many technical and professional skills that I feel qualify me to move to the next step of my career. I am currently the Human Resources Manager for the City of Swift Current. I love my job and the community but am feeling underutilized and would like to be able to extend my experience and skills beyond my current role. From reviewing the description for this position, I feel it is a great fit. I have strong interpersonal and facilitation skills and am a strategic and proactive thinker. The highlight of my HR career has been in the role of employee development and facilitation, and lately bringing innovation to the City’s methods and procedures. I am currently known as the City’s very own counselor and have been praised for my interpersonal skills and ability to create harmonious relations between union and management, management and employee, and employee and employee. I have completed my Master's Degree in Human Resources Management, and have been the HR Manager with the City of Swift Current for over seven years. This experience and education have given me the technical skills needed for employee and staff management, office and administrative procedures, protocols and policy development; as well as government processes and requirements for related documents such as legislation, regulations, and employment policies and procedures. In my time in Human Resources I have had the responsibility of recruiting & staffing, employee relations, orientation and new hire organization, training and facilitating, data collection and analysis, benefits and payroll, health and wellness initiatives, leave of absence claim management, performance management, labour relations and many operational tasks. I have always worked in multi-task environments with constantly changing demands and priorities which requires me to be responsible, flexible and adaptable in order to positively meet new challenges, as well as maintain confidentiality. I am extremely organized, thorough, conscientious and detail-oriented to ensure high quality work; and collaborate and cooperative in order to maintain a positive work environment. I am dedicated to teamwork, structure, consistency and have successfully coordinated my education into my experience to provide successful client service, communication, teamwork, leadership, time management, accountability, flexibility and adaptability.
