Manroop Grewal

An energetic and hard-working first-year law student at the University of Leicester, UK, looking to gain legal experience and further develop my legal skills.  

My experience of working at a criminal courthouse as a member of the administrative staff has introduced me to the legal field and kickstarted my passion for law. 

Upon graduating, I hope to use the knowledge and practical skills I've developed to increase the accessibility of law and help various individuals see that the law can work for them and not against them.

Sept 2019-Sept 2022       Court Reporter, Ministry of the Attorney General – North York, ON

• Actively annotated spoken word during criminal proceedings, demonstrating thorough attention to detail. 
• Diligently ensured the effective operation of ministry-approved court-recording devices and operating and troubleshooting these devices if needed.
• Enthusiastically spoke publicly to address the court of any technical difficulty and to seek clarification to ensure clarity of the record, proving excellent verbal communication skills. 
• Energetically took the initiative to train new court reporters; observed, notified them, and wrote clear and concise reports regarding their strengths and areas to improve.
