Mariella Palma

I am currently a first-year university student at Western University studying Business Management and Organizational Studies. Through my experience through a wide range of work experience as well as numerous years through participating in sports, I have been able to learn a variety of hard and soft skills as well as learning more about my passions and interests. Through participating in my previous endeavours and communicating with many people with different backgrounds, I have aspired to pursue a career in the field of business. I am open to opportunities for networking, internships and work experience in this field.

As a recent graduate from Crofton House School, I was given the opportunity to be a part of the Work Experience Program where I worked with Financiio, a financial education firm. I was granted with the challenge to analyze a variety of data they collected and create informational posts for their company’s social media platforms. During my time as their Community Builder, I reported to the Founder and Co-CEO of the company and collaborated with their whole design team to build their website. Along with that, I have worked with RBL Basketball as an assistant coach. In this role, I engaged with young children to help them develop basic basketball and life skills in a fun and supportive environment, collaborated with other coaches to create practice plans and adapted to different learning styles and cater to their needs. 

I am currently a first-year student at Huron University College at Western University majoring in Business Management and Organizational Studies and have received early acceptance into Ivey Business School at Western following my first two years. I have been able to become proficient at MS Office Suite as well as furthering my knowledge into all the majors of Business such as Finance, Marketing and Operations. Through Western’s case study learning environment, I have been able to analyze two different case studies per week to make decisions about whether an investor should invest in a company, how to reach a target market through marketing tactics and how a firm can increase their efficiency in the production of their products.
