Matthew Sherwood

I'm 22 years old, and currently in the third year of my computer science diploma at St Lawrence college, I have experience in web development using web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SpringBoot, REST API, MYSQL, and MongoDB. I have a handful of projects on my GitHub that demonstrate my skills as a developer.

I have worked some office jobs at my college, and for a year, I worked at a student IT help desk. I would pick up phone calls and answer emails about student inquiries about their learning web application (blackboard), and other technical issues about logging into their student accounts. 

Last summer, I worked as a PHP intern at Elentra, working in an agile environment working on debugging, testing, and improving medical school education platform. I worked in a hybrid environment where I could work form home or go into the offices. Most of my communication with more experienced developers happed during our stand-up meetings or through a slack channel.

I am enrolled in the CPA program (Computer Program Analysis) at St Lawrence college. So far, we have gone over important fundamental technical skills in software development in C++, Java, database languages, and web languages. In addition, we have learnt workplace skills, such as how to answer an email in a professional manner, work in a group environment, and communicate with coworkers in a proper business manner.
