Matthew Shoesmith

During the last 6 years I have worked in the retail industry, it has helped me to improve my communication skills with both customers and co-workers. Upon completing the General Business program at Georgian College, I worked as a territory sales rep for Acosta and did merchandising for Frito Lay. Working at Acosta helped me to step out of my comfort zone by enhancing my sales skills and the relationship building required to make a sale. At Frito Lay I learned about the importance of execution and product presentation to deliver the best service to the customer. I also worked at Mackenzie Health Hospital in Richmond Hill as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, where I improved my computer skills and gained a greater understanding of the inventory and ordering process. Currently I am working full-time at Food Basics until I can find a full-time position in my field of study.
