In my experience as a Developmental Service Support Worker, and training in my new career, Addiction and Mental Health, I have worked directly with clients facing developmental, mental health, and social challenges in both residential and community settings. I provide compassionate, non-judgmental, and person-centered support, assisting individuals with daily living, accessing services, navigating appointments, and managing personal wellness. I have also participated in group activities, facilitated engagement, and supported clients in crisis, always prioritizing safety, empowerment, and dignity. Through my administrative and front-line roles, I have developed strong skills in documentation, reporting, data entry, and maintaining organized spaces - skills directly relevant to tracking harm reduction materials, completing shift notes, and preparing kits for distribution. My training in crisis intervention, CPI, and trauma-informed practices has equipped me to de-escalate challenging situations and work effectively in high-pressure environments. I am committed to harm reduction principles, respect for diversity, and equity, and I am confident in advocating for individuals while supporting their autonomy. My collaborative approach ensures effective communication with team members, program managers, and community partners to support the holistic needs of service users. I would welcome the opportunity to bring my experience, dedication, and passion for supporting marginalized populations, families, and individual children, youth, adults and seniors in my community and the society I find myself.
